Jamie Barrett hit a great 112 clearance for The Icing Cabin as they entertained long time leaders Matric in Section A of the RCS Landscapes Intermediate Snooker League. Matric would appear to be suffering a dip in form as they faced the inconsistent Cabin team who saw Terry Burns & Tony Aisthorpe easily dispatch Craig Waddingham & Dave Powell on one table 2-0. On the other Steve Donner & Daz Ford took a frame for Matric but then Kevin Ashby’s 60 put the Icing Cabin into a 3-1 lead. This was followed by Barrett’s classy clearance before the Icing Cabin completed a stunning 5-1 win. Struggling Clee Cons A faced a tough visit to Cue World to face Simon Devaney Builders. Stuart Carrington (50) & Simon Devaney restricted their opponents to 12 scored points in their two frames before the Builders scratch pairing of Luke Maddison & Shaun Willett allowed their opponents 14 points in making it 4-0. Things only got very marginally better for Cons as Ashley Wright (40,43,38) & Matt Devaney allowed their opponents to score a meagre 17 points and completed a slam against a team that, even at this early stage, look to be in serious danger of the drop. Ian Crosby (44) & Steve Fisher put Locate Supplies 2-0 up against RCS Landscapes A . Nige Emmerson & Wayne Webber made it 3-0 to the Clee Bowls team. The next frame went to the black and Webber hit a storming long black but unfortunately went in off gifting RCS the frame. Mark Franks & Darryl Pidd continued the good work for Locate by taking the last two frames as well to complete a slightly flattering 5-1 win. Mike Emerson & Nige Cordy won the only 2-0 of the night as Peter Hogarth & Sons maintained their good season with a solid 4-2 win at TR Carpets. Paul Bristow’s 46 helped Ray Edmonds B level the score 1-1 with Hainton B before two more frames were evenly traded, Mick Ponsonby 44.. With the scores level John Ashford-Smith & Tony Miller took the final two frames to secure a 4-2 Edmonds win. The highlights of Bryants Carpets3-3 draw with Stamford were contributions of 58 & 46 from Paul Clark & a useful 44 from Stamford star Gaz Horsfall.

In Section B Nige Mumby & John Ford put Westlands D into a 2-0 lead at struggling Grimsby Police B. It got worse as Ken Hayes & Alec Cowie were far too strong for their opponents as they made it 4-0. Despite a much closer fifth frame it still went in favour of the Westlands team as did the last as Byron Hatfield & G Clark completed a slam. After four frames the tie between Clee Cons C & Webbonet Web Design was locked at 2-2. Mick Springhall & Paul Lidgard took the next for Cons before promotion rivals Webbonet took the last courtesy of Mick Forster & Dave Webster. Hainton kept their promotion bid going as a 2-0 from Daz Evans & Craig Smith and from Rob Broughton & Dave Telfer put them 4-0 up against Carr Lane Social B. Pete McIntyre & Barry Loveday won the final two frames for the Railwaymen as they deservedly avoided a big defeat. Cambridge Graduates were holding leaders Carr Lane Social A at 2-0 but then they slumped to defeat as Kevin Munson & Joe Goodfellow completed a 4-2 win. West End B had Paul Taylor & Paul King to thank as they won 4-2 at Cambridge F. Andy Barry, Neil Morley, Chris Pashby & Paul Brett Jr put Express Appliances 4-0 up at Stamford B before Stu White & Nick Masters hit back for the hosts by winning their frames.
